NAHA is an understated and modern space. NAHA goes for cool sophistication over flashy color and offers a seasonal menu with influences of Carrie Nahabedian's Armenian roots. Located in a dynamic corner space in Chicago's downtown River North neighborhood, NAHA's oversize storefront windows open the dining room to the city, allowing the energy outside to become an extension of the restaurant. After departing her position as executive chef of the Four Seasons Hotel Los Angeles at Beverly Hills, Chef Nahabedian returned to her native Chicago in 2000 to open NAHA, which has had a Michelin star for six consecutive years. Chef Nahabedian was awarded James Beard Foundation Best Chef Great Lakes 2008, as well as receiving several nominations for James Beard Foundation Outstanding Chef. The winemaker dinner at NAHA will feature wines from Mauritson Family Winery of Dry Creek Valley, CA. Winemaking was the logical evolution in the Mauritson family's long history of farming, however, it took an absence from the valley and attention to those inner voices that led their winery founder Clay Mauritson back to the same vineyards that he spent planting, tending and picking as a teen. What he came to realize was that he already had a lifetime of understanding about the subtleties and strengths of each micro-climate within the Dry Creek, Rockpile and Alexander Valleys.
