Ticket Terms and Conditions:

Tickets to the Rio 2016 Olympic Games are subject to all of the applicable terms and conditions prescribed to such tickets by the Organizing Committee for the Rio 2016 Olympic Games.  Such terms and conditions are contained in the Ticket License Agreement (which can be reviewed at http://www.rio2016.com/en and on the back of the physical ticket (once issued), and include prohibitions against any use of the ticket in connection with any commercial promotion or contest (without the consent of the Organizing Committee) and the unauthorized sale of the ticket in excess of face value of the ticket.  By accepting tickets, the holder is deemed to have accepted all of the applicable terms and conditions. 

United is solely responsible for operation and fulfillment of the auction. Visa is the prize supplier only for this auction.

Delivery Time:

Once the Auction closes for an item, you will be notified if your bid was successful via email and asked to check out by accurately and completely filling out your best contact and shipping information. If you do not check-out within 48 hours your item may be forfeited and awarded to the next highest bidder.

Except as otherwise determined by United Air Lines, Inc., in its sole discretion, no refunds will be provided on any Auction item. If for any reason an item is received damaged, becomes unavailable, or cannot be fulfilled in whole or in part, United Air Lines, Inc. reserves the right in its sole discretion to offer a concession to impacted members. Privacy policy: Any personal data received through your online transaction will be kept confidential and may only be used to process and complete the required transaction.

Auction Rules:

To participate in an auction, the number of Award Miles in your account should be at least equal to the Current bid per item. Enter the total number of Award Miles you want to bid in 'My max bid'. After placing your bid, you may follow the auction at the 'My auction account' page. If you win the auction, you will be notified via email and your account will be automatically debited for the amount of Award Miles you had bid. No miles will be deducted from your account before the end of the auction.

Quantity

The quantity (number of items) available in this Auction is 3. You may not bid for more than one item. Bid per item Based on the current Winning bid, the system calculates the required minimum bid amount for your bid to become the Winning bid. Your bid must be equal or higher than the required minimum bid shown in the field \'My max bid\'. If your bid is higher than the required minimum, the system will automatically increase the bid on your behalf, using only as much of your Maximum bid as is required to keep you in the winning lot. 

The Maximum bid is the highest price in Award Miles you are willing to pay for the item, however you won\'t necessarily use the full amount of your maximum bid. Your maximum bid will be kept confidential. Winning bid The Winning bid is the highest bid among all bids received so far. Every bid placed replaces the current Winning bid. When the auction ends, the member holding the Winning bid will be the winner. Bid history In the Bid history, all bids that have been placed so far for the item are listed in reverse chronology. Day 1:  Guest Arrival Day (August 16th) 

Airport Arrival: Upon arrival at the airport you will be met by a Visa Events Team representative holding a Visa sign. The representative will escort you to your motor coach transportation that will take you to the hotel.

Hotel Arrival: Upon arrival at the Windsor Atlantica, representatives from the Visa Events Team will assist you with hotel check-in at the Visa Hospitality Desk. 

Afternoon: Open to enjoy at your leisure. Stop by the Visa Hospitality Desk for recommendations on local attractions and activities. 

Evening: Open to enjoy at your leisure. 

Day 2 (August 17th) 

Breakfast: Breakfast will be served on the fourth floor in the Hotel Restaurant. 

Olympic Event:  Enjoy Canoe Sprint at the famous Rio Lagoa

Afternoon:  Open to enjoy at your leisure. Stop by the Visa Hospitality Desk for recommendations on local attractions and activities. 

Evening: Attend Beach Volleyball on beautiful Copacabana Beach.

Day 3 (August 18th) 

Breakfast:  Breakfast will be served on the fourth floor in the Hotel Restaurant 

Morning:  Enjoy a tour of an iconic Rio de Janeiro landmark

Afternoon: Attend Men’s Water Polo

Evening: Open to enjoy at your leisure. Stop by the Visa Hospitality Desk for recommendations on local attractions and activities.

Day 4: Guest Departure (August 19th) 

Breakfast: Breakfast will be served on the fourth floor in the Hotel Restaurant 

Hotel Check out:  10am; transportation provided via motor coach to your designated airport

Are packages transferable?

No, the entire package is non-refundable and non-transferable.

If the package is being given as a gift, the attending guest(s) information should be registered with United MileagePlus at the time of booking.

 

Are refunds available?

No. All purchases are final and non-refundable.

 

How can I cancel?

There are no cancellations.

Payment must be completed using your United MileagePlus Visa miles and full payment is due at time of booking in order to confirm reservation. Offer is non-refundable and may not be resold. All sales are final.

Do I need a passport?

Yes

Do I need a travel visa to travel to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil?

Travel visa requirements are dependent on your passport country of origin. For U.S., Canadian, Australian and Japanese citizens, Brazil has waived most travel visa requirements during the Olympics. If a travel visa is required, it is the responsibility of the auction winner and their guests to obtain one. 

Will transportation to/from the airport be provided?

Yes, upon arrival at the airport in Rio de Janeiro you will be met by a Visa Events Team representative holding a Visa sign. The representative will escort you to your motor coach transportation that will take you to the hotel. Please note that transportation to/from your airport at your point of origin is your responsibility.

What Hotel will I be staying at?

You will be staying at The Windsor Atlantica, a five-star Brazilian hotel property located on beautiful Copacabana Beach and features stunning view of the sea.  The Rio 2016 Olympic Games Beach Volleyball venue is located just across the street from the hotel.

Can I extend my hotel stay?

Yes, based on availability. Cardholders will be responsible for paying for the additional nights. You may extend your stay, but only by calling the Windsor Atlantica directly. Rates are based upon availability.

If you would like to stay in the same room you must mention that when calling, otherwise, you are subject to switching.

Can I upgrade my room at the hotel?

Unfortunately, the rooms for the trip are pre-booked and cannot be modified. All reservations are double occupancy.

If I decide to rent a car, will parking be available?

During this time Rio de Janeiro will be very congested and we will not have parking available. For these reasons, we do not recommend getting a rental car.

Who should I reach out to if I have questions during my stay?

During your stay a Visa hospitality desk will be available to serve as a central meeting location.  Visa team members will be onsite to help answer any questions you may have.

What meals are included?

Daily breakfast is included in your package and will be provided on the fourth floor Restaurant at the Windsor Atlantica. You will be responsible for all other meals.  For your convenience, a $300 Visa prepaid product will be provided that can be used to pay for meals on your own.   

If I have dietary restrictions, can I make a special request?

Yes. Please provide all special requests at the time of booking.

Do I need to make advance reservations for any meals?

Reservations are recommended for fine dining restaurants as there will be many tourists visiting Rio de Janeiro during this time. 

What do I do if I have a safety or medical concern?

Visa security personnel will be present at the hotel, as well as at all off-site events, to provide information and to address any safety concerns.  Visa will also have a qualified physician on-call at the hotel.
